Join us for a special sneak preview of VS. GOLIATH — an award-winning new documentary series about frontline fights against fossil fuel infrastructure across the country.
We’ll screen two episodes, followed by conversation with our special guest, Maury Johnson. A West Virginia organic farmer and pipeline-fighter, Maury is traveling by bus and train across the country on his “Great American Crazy Train Tour,” bringing these films to communities along the way — and Vashon is one of his stops.

About the Films
GOLIATH: Appalachia
Deep in the hollers of the Blue Ridge Mountains, construction of a monstrous fracked gas pipeline is tearing through mountaintops, forests, and streams, bearing down on rural communities. Army Veteran Russell Chisholm swore an oath to protect and serve his country, and now, as the waters, forests, and way of life he calls home come under threat, he’s been called to defend his community from the domestic threat of the Mountain Valley Pipeline. He joins with community members from West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina, including farmers, veterans and Indigenous leaders who rally together to resist.
GOLIATH: Greater Chaco
The sacred Greater Chaco region of New Mexico, ancestral homeland of the Pueblo and Diné peoples, is under siege from a relentless surge of oil and gas extraction. After a life-changing call to Standing Rock, young Sandia Pueblo leader Julia Bernal returns home to confront the same forces threatening her own community. Uniting with Diné elder Daniel Tso and an intergenerational coalition, they lead a powerful fight to defend tribal sovereignty and protect Chaco for future generations.
